Colors of Lithuanian Churches Today

02/27/2020

St. Casimir Church Los Angeles (top left) joins the beautiful and bright churches of Lithuania. Through the efforts and participation of parishioners in the Archdiocesan Called to Renew Campaign, the building has been repainted and currently undergoing renovations. The color amber represents light, life, holiness and purity. White and yellow are the colors of the Papal flag. The jewel is one of the world’s oldest and most coveted treasures. It is preserved by time, beneath the depths of the seas, washed upon the shores and worn for protection and renewal.

In times of trials and difficulties, amidst stormy seas, we remain faithful to God and we are brought to shores carrying the light of Christ, pure and holy. St. Casimir’s was built by persecuted Christians who persevered with their Catholic faith in the free country of America. Today, it continues to provide worship, evangelization, and service to Lithuanian immigrants and their families, as well as to other nationalities in the community.
