Yellow, green and red decorated Los Angeles mountains as Lithuanians celebrated February 16th

The February 16th celebration is usually characterized by the abundance of events in Lithuania and Lithuanian communities around the World. This is true both for the events of the interwar period and contemporary Lithuania. Marches of various organizations and communities were and are still popular in the major cities of Lithuania and outside it. Lithuanian American Business Association in Los Angeles (LABA LA) together with Consulate General of Lithuania in Los Angeles did march in Angelinos way!

On the 15th February, 2021 LABA LA and Consulate General hiked all the way on a rocky and rutted road to Eagle Rock in Santa Monica Mountains carrying flag and coat of arms of Lithuania in the front. At the final destination with expansive view overlooking Santa Monica Bay, the San Fernando Valley, and all the mountains in between, Lithuanians raised a massive 10 meters flag! It was spectacular moment touching the hearts of all Lithuanians and hiking enthusiasts around. The tricolor of Lithuania were seen from everywhere around!

It was an event of great importance for LABA LA and Consulate General. After raising a flag of Lithuania at the Eagle Rock, Lithuanians celebrated the Lithuania’s National Day by having a picnic, engaging in conversations and enjoying the lofty perch. What a Day!
