Evening with international Jazz and RNB artist Kotryna Juodzeviciute

On a warm summer evening, Native South Studios transformed into a haven for jazz enthusiasts, offering a night filled with the soul-stirring sounds of jazz music. The event drew a diverse crowd, from seasoned jazz aficionados to curious newcomers, all eager to immerse themselves in the rich, rhythmic tapestries that jazz uniquely weaves.

Native South Studios, known for its intimate and acoustically vibrant setting, provided the perfect backdrop for the evening. The studio with it’s warm interior and ambient lighting, exuded an atmosphere for an amazing evening. Atendees had a chance to take photos with evening guest performers, have a glass of wine while seing old friends and meating new. You could see some familiar faces too. Among evening atendees you could spot an actor Martin Kove, actress Rachel Kove, music producer, songwriter, composer and studio owner Johnathan Smith a.k.a TheRealJonSmith, event hostess, studio co-owner and actress Ieva Georges, Irish singer-songwriter and musician Yelpy, Lithuanian actor Andrius Paulavicius, actor Hope Brown, music producer and composer David Martin Frank.

As attendees settled into their seats, or some found to be more comfortable sitting straight on the ground, the palpable anticipation for the performances grew. The evening kicked off with a captivating performance by Lithuanian jazz and RNB artist Kotryna Juodzeviciute and renowned keyboardist Rashon Ramu Murph featured an unforgettable improvisational performance by a dynamic duo. Their synergy was palpable from the first note, creating an electrifying atmosphere that captivated the audience.

The singer’s voice, rich and versatile, effortlessly navigated complex melodies and unexpected turns. Her ability to weave stories through her vocal improvisations was nothing short of mesmerizing. The keyboardist matched her spontaneity with dazzling skill, his fingers flying over the keys, creating one of a kind masterpiece. The audience was left in awe, witnessing a moment of pure musical magic. Singer even performed a piece in her own native Lithuanian language. Lithuanian folk song lyrics often drawn on nature, with references to forests, rivers, birds, reflecting the deep connection to the land and the natural world. Kotryna’s vocal play with sounds was one of a kind. 

Jazz Evening at Native South Studios was more than just a concert, it was a celebration of a genre that continues to inspire and bring people together. The success of the event promises more such evenings at Native South Studios, solidifying its place as a cornerstone for jazz in the community.
