Diana Ralys: „Love is the power we need”

| Sunday morning I wrote an email to all of you „Love is the power we need”. Same day around 9pm looters smashed our glass door and got what was valuable to them (computers, inventory, merchandise, credit card readers, crystals…). After this happened, I did not change my opinion – we DO need more Love. I did not lose faith in humanity just because someone was destroying my business. I sobbed Sunday night when I got the call from my security company at 9pm, that looters broke into my spa. I broke down partially because I was on the edge for the whole day watching on the Internet what was happening in Santa Monica. My neighbor next door who are a family owned jewelry shop got totally cleared out, even the heavy duty safe was drilled and opened. Neighborhood restaurant exploded in fire. My heart was sinking into my stomach. I did not know what I would find in the morning at my place. My spa is a fruit of hard work. It is a sanctuary for relaxation and healing. It wasn’t right for someone to come in and destroy it. But then I realized, this act of violence was not targeted towards me. Santa Monica, our beautiful beach town was a war zone, still is. The whole 4th st was a “hot spot” for brutality. My spa was “in the wrong place at the wrong time”. But today is a new day. I believe in humanity, I trust in love and we are only as strong as our good will and trust. I do not understand the mind of the terrorists, bandits or criminals, but I do know there are enough great souls in the world. Monday morning at 6am as soon as the city curfew was lifted, my family and I went to the spa. Even at that early hour, residents of Santa Monica, who we never met before, were helping us to clean the broken glass and giving us their condolences. Even my spa landlord came with her son and helped us clean up too.I still tear up from time to time, but not because of sadness or desperation. These are tears of joy when I receive another call, message, email or text with an offer to help me. Yes, I do feel I am a part of a strong community! In the last couple of days we were given so much love from family, friends (including Instagram and Facebook), my employees, colleagues, friends of friends, friend’s families, my spa landlord, strangers, my fellow estheticians and other businesses. Only love is beaming from my heart I LOVE each and everyone one of YOU more than you can imagine. As you all know Diana Ralys Skin Health and Radiance Wellness Spa is 100% family business. My whole family – Kristina and her boyfriend Matt, my sons Adomas and Andrius, my husband Victor and myself, are grateful from the bottom of our hearts for your friendship, love and support. Our dear friend Susan Avolio started Go Fund Me account to help us financially to get back on my feet. Even though I have two different insurances, the nuances in both are excluding the items that were stolen. As many of you may already know, due to COVID we have been instructed to be shut down since March 17th. For nearly 3 months we have not been able to do any services which is about 70% of our income. This was the last straw that has deepened our financial struggle to reopen. Huge thank you to those who saw the link on social media and already donated. Please do not feel obligated to contribute if you are not in a good place financially. Maybe you could help spread the word and share in your circles (Instagram, Facebook, Nexdoor…)? It’s so hard to ask for help, especially when we know we are not the only ones suffering. We don’t want to disrepect anyone, there’s a huge cause that demands everyone’s attention but if you feel called to help via a donation, online order, or simply sharing our link or sending us your loving energy we would greatly appreciate it.P.S. Looters are a totally separate group from peaceful protestors, please please please don’t mix these two together. We all have a lot of learning to do and a lot of loving to do. It may be hard when your heart aches, but love is the one true vibration that will make lasting change. |
