Vienas, du, trys – mokykla „Genys“!

Balandžio 18 d. generalinės konsulės pavaduotoja Sandra Zolubienė dalyvavo San Francisko lituanistinės mokyklos „Genys“ -ojo veiklos jubiliejaus šventėje ir įteikė Užsienio reikalų ministro Kęstučio Budrio bei generalinės konsulės Sandros Brikaitės sveikinimus. Šventėje taip pat dalyvavo Lietuvos Respublikos garbės konsulas Dennis Garrison – nuoširdi padėka už šiltą priėmimą.

Mokyklos direktorė Aistė Solly pabrėžė, kad mokykla – tai ne vien pastatas ar sienos, o žmonės ir kartu kuriami prisiminimai. Visa tai buvo galima pamatyti ir pajusti šventės metu: laiko juosta nukėlė į pačius pirmuosius mokyklos gyvavimo žingsnius, vaikų pasirodymai – nuo eilėraščius deklamuojančių mažiausiųjų iki smagiai šokančio jaunimo – priminė, kur esame šiandien, o Laiko skrynia pažadėjo, kad dar kartu švęsime ir 30-ąjį jubiliejų.

Ačiū visai mokyklos bendruomenei už puoselėjamą lietuvių kalbą ir tradicijas! Ilgų gyvavimo metų San Francisko lituanistinei mokyklai „Genys“!

On April 18, Deputy Consul General Sandra Zolubienė attended the th anniversary celebration of the San Francisco Lithuanian School “Genys” and presented greetings on behalf of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Kęstutis Budrys, and Consul General Sandra Brikaitė. The Honorary Consul of the Republic of Lithuania, Dennis Garrison, also attended the event – sincere thanks for the warm welcome.

School Director Aistė Solly emphasized that a school is not just a building or walls, but the people and the memories they create together. This was clearly felt throughout the celebration: a timeline took everyone back to the very beginnings of the school, children’s performances – from the youngest reciting poems to youth joyfully dancing – reflected where the school stands today, and the Time Capsule promised that the community will gather again to celebrate the 30th anniversary

Thank you to the entire school community for nurturing the Lithuanian language and traditions. Wishing many more years of success to the San Francisco Lithuanian School “Genys”!
