There is a brother\, a sister and a friend around us. Would you not spend some hours to be with them? \nOur annual Evening With Mary is the only organized opportunity to gather during the year as one family\, parish\, and community of God. Let us get to know each other\, exchange spiritual experiences and share God’s graces.  This is our family reunion\, please come. Mary\, our mother is inviting us to her birthday. Let us celebrate and give thanks. \nUnlike other parishes\, St. Casimir Parish does not hold any bake sale\, raffles or any other fundraising activities all year round.  There is only one Evening With Mary. It’s not even a fundraiser but a dinner to gather. In case there will be an extra income\, this year goes for the landscape development and side altars.

DESCRIPTION:Kviečiame rinktis prie lietuviško koplytstulpio Grotto parke sugiedoti Lietuvišką giesmę\, paminint Gedulo ir Vilties dieną. \nBirželio 14 d. yra paskelbta Lietuvos Gedulo ir vilties diena\, skirta tremtyje žuvusiems lietuviams ̨̨atminti. \n1941 m. birželio 14 d. 3 val. nakties enkavedistai pradėjo masinius lietuvių areštus. Lietuviai ištisomis šeimomis buvo tremiami į Sovietų Sąjungos gilumą\, Sibirą. Per savaitę iš Lietuvos išvežta 30 tūkst. Lietuvos piliečių. Iki šiol tiksliai nenustatyta tikslaus ištremtųjų ir žuvusiųjų pakeliui į tremtį skaičiaus. Žmonės buvo tremiami krovininių traukinių vagonuose. Iš viso 1941–1952 m. iš Lietuvos buvo ištremta apie 132 000 žmonių\, apie 28 000 iš jų žuvo.\n—-\nWe invite everyone to gather at the Lithuanian Wayside Shrine in Grotto to sing the Lithuanian anthem and remember those who died due to Soviet deportations. \nJune 14 is an official day of mourning in the Baltic countries (Latvia\, Lithuania and Estonia). This day was set aside for remembrance of those who were exiled to Siberia as part of Soviet repressions in the Baltic states. \nThe Baltic states were occupied and annexed by the Soviet Union in 1940\, as their territory lied within the Soviet sphere of influence according to the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact signed between the USSR and Nazi Germany. Mass deportations began about a year later. \nThe first deportation took place on June 14\, 1941. There was a secret document known as the Serov Instructions\, which specified that the deportations would be carried out as secretly\, quietly\, and speedily as possible. Hundreds of families were sent to forced settlements in remote areas of the Soviet Union. June deportation of 1941 was followed by March deportation of 1949 codenamed Operation Priboi (Coastal Surf). \nJune 14 is observed as a remembrance day in all three Baltic States. In Estonia and Latvia\, it is known as the Day of Mourning and Commemoration or Day of Remembrance for Victims of Soviet Terror. In Lithuania\, this date is referred to as Mourning and Hope Day. It is marked with solemn ceremonies and demonstrations.

DESCRIPTION:The 2018 AABS Conference at Stanford University will celebrate two important milestones – the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Association for the Advancement of Baltic Studies (AABS) and the 100th anniversary of independence for the Baltic republics of Estonia\, Latvia and Lithuania. \nThe conference will bring together scholars interested in Baltic studies from all over the world and foster collaboration between Baltic and Stanford researchers. The three-day program\, to be held on Stanford University campus on June 1-3\, 2018\, will feature panels\, roundtable discussions and workshops on 16 broad topics. The conference will also include numerous additional events\, such as keynote talks by leading Baltic scholars\, evening receptions\, film screenings\, exhibits\, and tours of Stanford’s Baltic collections. \nThe conference is organized by the Association for the Advancement of Baltic Studies (AABS) and the Stanford University Libraries (SUL). AABS is the world’s premier scholarly society for research on Estonia\, Latvia and Lithuania. Its global membership includes scholars and supporters from North America\, Estonia\, Latvia\, Lithuania\, Sweden\, Finland\, Germany\, Australia\, Great Britain\, Russia\, Israel\, Japan\, and elsewhere. The Stanford University Libraries is considered one of the top academic libraries in the United States in terms of the size and strength of its Baltic collections.
