In his Soon to Be Gone photography series, Tadas Kazakevičius draws inspiration from American photographers who documented rural America during the Great Depression era, such as Dorothea Lange and Walker Evans. They also used their photography to attempt to capture the times and things that were destined to soon come to an end. With a similar aim, photographer takes a nostalgic look at his homeland’s countryside.
With his extensive series “Soon to be Gone”, Tadas became the finalist in numerous awards like Leica Oskar Barnack, LensCulture Exposure and ZEISS awards and the series were presented in many exhibitions including this year’s prestigious Jimei x Arles 2020 exhibition in China. Also, Tadas is currently preparing his solo exhibition in Lithuanian National Museum in Vilnius, Lithuania.
During this event for the first time the author will present his newly published “Soon To Be Gone” album.
This event will be moderated by Emilia Mickevicius, PhD, historian of photography and curatorial assistant at San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (SFMOMA)
