Spalio 17 d.

On October 17 the Seattle Latvian Community Center hosted the first Youth Baltic Ambassadors Day, which brought together children from the Lithuanian, Latvian, and Estonian communities of Seattle.
The young ambassadors got to know one another and saw that all three communities keep alive the history of their parents’ and grandparents’ country, a history that connects them. They compared how different their languages are, tried each other’s folk dances, and played traditional games. In the craft workshop there were Estonian flags, Gediminas Castle, Latvian traditional patterns, and amber keepsakes.
The Honorary Consuls of Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia came to the gathering, and every young ambassador received a certificate of friendship signed by all three.
Thank you to Inga Dabašinskaitė for the initiative, and to the presidents of all three communities and the heads of the schools for organizing it. Parents met, the little ones made friends, and the communities grew closer.
